Michael Gove, the UK's former Secretary of State for Education (2010-2014), is a neo-conservative, former journalist and admirer of Rupert Murdoch. As Education Secretary, the majority of parents (YouGov, 2014) did not trust him, educators passed votes of no confidence in him (all unions, 2013), and Valentine's cards from his own cabinet colleagues were short on the ground.
